My work is informed by social connection, adaption, the exploration of heritage, motherhood, identity, community, mental health and the inter connectedness of life in all its wondrous forms.

Creating is a compulsion, it is my means of processing the world around me.

With a creative background in printmaking, sculpture and mosaic were a natural progression. Valuing resources all around me, from pieces of metal in guitars to discarded junk. I seek to re-purpose, to give new meaning to abandoned objects which retain their intrinsic value, yet undergo a transformation.

Born and raised in Cape Town, South Africa, I learned the value of re-purposing objects, items and trying not to be wasteful. Traditional art materials were prohibitive for me as a child and teen. This steered me in the direction of working with found objects which could find a new life and new meaning.

My earliest mosaics were made from empty snail shells pressed into clay
