I have always enjoyed art and craft from an early age. The earliest memory of this is doodling on sheets of paper and cutting up old Christmas cards to make new objects from them – greetings cards, gift tags, etc. I can remember spending most of my childhood being inspired to make and design anything and everything from dolls’ clothes to decorated flowerpots. This love of art has stayed with me and has developed and grown.
Currently, I have a passion for mosaic in all different styles from 2D, 3D and beyond. The excitement of finding materials from jumble sales, charity shops and car boot sales is such fun. Finding the perfect plate or bowl for the next project. Recycling is so rewarding. Texture, pattern, colour is the starting block of a design. A good long walk on Dartmoor gets the imagination flowing…
Once I start I get so engrossed that time just flies by and before I know it my animals (hens, ducks, geese, pygmy goats and miniature donkeys, and not forgetting my two Labrador dogs) all need feeding on my smallholding in the wonderful Devon countryside.
